CODE ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT

The Code Administration Department is responsible for managing the growth of the City of Bowie.

It is our goal that you get the information you need to make the best decisions about how to make your project a successful contribution to our City.

The City of Bowie has adopted and utilizes the following codes:

1)    2006 International Building Code and Appendices

2)    2006 International Fire Code and Appendices

3)    2006 International Fuel Gas Code and Appendices

4)    2006 International Mechanical Code and Appendices

5)    2006 International Plumbing Code and Appendices

6)    2006 International Residential Code and appendices

7)    2003 International Energy Conservation Code and Appendices

8)    1994 Standard Housing Code

9)    2005 National Electric Code

It is important to contact the Code Administrator BEFORE you begin a project for permitting and code compliance information.

PLANNING & ZONING AGENDA
Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursdays of each month in the City Municipal Annex.

Special meetings and workshops are also held from time to time.

To get your project on the right track, you must satisfy three issues:

1.    You must have a legal lot
2.    You must have a permitted use for your zoning
3.    You must obtain the necessary building permits
