Serving on Boards & Commissions
The
Bowie City Council appoints citizens to serve on advisory boards and commissions. Citizen involvement is important to setting the direction for Bowie's future.
The appointed citizens serve in a volunteer capacity on the city boards and commissions. Members must take an oath of office and serve in the interest of public service to the Bowie community. In most cases, board members may serve no more than two consecutive terms on a board and may serve on only one city board at a time. Each board or commission is responsible for electing its own chairperson and other officers.
Meeting notices and agendas for city-appointed boards and commissions are posted at City Hall, 307 N. Mason Street, at least 72 hours prior to the applicable meeting. Most boards and commissions meet at the Council Chambers located at 307 N. Mason, but other locations are also utilized. Specific meeting locations will be noted on the posted agendas.
If you have any questions or are interested in serving on any of Bowie's Boards or Commissions, please call the city secretary at (940) 872-1114 ext. 121 to have an application mailed to you. You may also download the
